Lily Allen has urged people to be more eco-friendly and contradicted herself by buying a new gas guzzling car.

Allen, who believes it is essential for people to spend the next decade thinking of the impact of their actions on planet earth, revealed that she has just bought herself a 'gas guzzling' car.

"We all need to take a bit more responsibility for our carbon footprint. I'm trying but it's hard," said the actress. "I've just bought a new Land Rover which is a gas guzzler, but I spend a lot of time in the countryside near my dad, so I feel I need it," she added.

Allen wanted something big and sturdy which elevated her off the ground a bit. She wanted to feel bigger than the paparazzi.
