If a president of a free world calls you a 'Jackass' certainly, it carries certain weight-age and now news has it that President Barack Obama called Kayne "Jackass" while conducting an interview with CNBC and was reported by an ABC News anchor Terry Mornon on his Twitter.

However, the president Obama's statement was an off-the-record quote. The Twitter post said: "Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT'S presidential," the Nightline anchor wrote to his 1 million followers.

Meanwhile, the tweet became a major rage and the network was asked to issue an apology. An ABC spokesperson said, "In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were
made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview."

"This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again." While Terry's tweet post also has been deleted in the meantime.

After his rude gesture at the VMA award, the hip-hop artist had apologized to Taylor Swift through his blog and even on the Jay Leno Show.
