Elton John's Versace Shirts On Sale For Charity

Sir Elton John
Sir Elton John is all set to bid adieu to his beloved Versace shirt collection after his partner David Furnish raided his wardrobe for a charity sale.

The singer rarely wore these shirts, but had kept them for sentimental reasons following the death of his friend, Gianni Versace, the world famous designer, in 1997.

David Furnish said he had attacked John's closet to help raise cash for the Elton John Aids Foundation through the sale of the Versace shirts.

Elton John did not want to part with his collection of the silk printed Versace shirts. However, Furnish had managed to pull out some of those too. The 'Out The Closet" sale is opening on December 12.

The duo said that they have a lot of beautiful clothing in their wardrobe and it is not possible for them to wear all of them at once. Therefore, it is better to sell them and raise money for charity than to hang them in closed cupboards.
