Meet The most undateable man
Talk about being unlucky in love. Meet lovesick Chris Waitt, who is probably Britain's 'most undateable man' - he's been dumped by every single girl he's gone out with since he was 11 years old.
Some were brave enough to do it face to face, others by phone, text and even webcam. Now in his mid-30s, Chris wanted to find out where he'd gone wrong. So he decided to track down all his exes to ask: "Why did you dump me?"
"Girls don't usually tell you at the time. When you actually get dumped they'll say, 'Oh, I just want to be friends.' Or 'I really like you, but..' They never tell you the real reasons,' the Mirror quoted him, as saying.
"Most of my friends are settling down. Even my younger brother's settled down and had a kid. I'm worried I'm becoming Strange Uncle Chris. I just want a long and fulfilling relationship for the rest of my life,' he added.
So Chris, from London, made a list of all the girls he's ever gone out with, and set about tracking them down. Unsurprisingly, some were horrified when he suddenly turned up. His most recent girlfriend, Alice, slammed the door in his face when he visited her home and, through the letterbox, told him to "f*** off".
His exes variously describe him as emotionally backward, unreliable, immature and in need of professional help. Dawn, the childhood sweetheart he lost his virginity to, says: "We went to a wedding and he got really p***ed and he jammed my mum up against a door and kissed her. I didn't know what to do. It was horrible."
Yet the most difficult phone call Chris had to make was to his former fiancee, Vicky, who he was engaged to for four years. To his horror, he learned she was now in a happy relationship and expecting a baby.
Chris's mum, Hilary, who lives in West Sussex, told him: "Even when you got engaged, you thought it was a huge joke and bought her a trick ring. You never took her seriously and you lost her." Now Chris has turned his encounters into a documentary film, A Complete History Of My Sexual Failures.
"In all, it was great to meet my ex-girlfriends over the years. It made me realise I've hurt some really nice girls but I think it all worked out OK in the end,' he said.
