Kozhikode, In an attempt to enter the Guinness World Records (GWR), a seventh standard student enthralled the audience by a marathon 'Jal Tarang' performance for 24 hours today.
The 24-hour feat by M Manu, a 12-year-old boy of Government Ghanpat Boys High School, Chalappuram, was inaugurated by Jnanpeeth awardee M T Vasudevan Nair in the town hall this morning.
His attempt was to beat the previous record of 16-hour similar performance set by Ramakrishna Rao of Andhra Pradesh, the programme General Convenor P M V Panikkar said.
The programme was being documented as per the criteria laid down by the GWR and would be mailed to them soon, he added.
