Ex-Bond Honoured For Youth Charity

Former James Bond, Pierce Borsnan and wife Keely Shaye have received an award for their work with a youth charity. The couple were honoured with the Responsible Activism in Media and Entertainment award at the second annual Jane Goodall Institute Global Leadership Awards Celebration in Washington, D.C., on November 7.
The actor has two young sons with Shaye - Dylan, 11, and Paris, seven - as well as three grown children from his previous marriage
Both Brosnan and Shaye have been involved in the institute's Roots n Shoots global environmental youth programme, ever since it came into being in the early 1990s. "Keely and I are honoured to be in Washington, D.C., at such an exciting time in this nation's history and to accept this award from our dear friend Dr. Jane Goodall," Contactmusic quoted Brosnan as telling the fundraiser's audience.
The ex-007 also admitted that it was his wife who inspired him to get involved. "I have a wonderful wife in Keely, who is very versed in the world of green. This is a partnership now of 16 years and she has educated me on the environment and how to bring up children, whether it's the food they eat or the food that we grow at home in Hawaii - clean water, good vegetables, recycling," he added.
