'Traditional Art' Painting On Nail

{image- www.boldsky.com}The 20-year-old artist, Niranjan Mohapatra in India's northern Puri exhibits nail art aimed at propagating the traditional Pattachitra art. Mohapatra has nails longer than that of girls, has a penchant for long talons since childhood. Off late, to give his nails a better look, he started painting the images of deities, which looked not only fastidious but intricate as well. Foreigners tourists admire this unique and creative art displayed by Niranjan who has three-inch long nails that took him eight months to grow

His Traditional art painting on nail won him appreciation and recognition. Painting on nails is not easy which requires tremendous concentration and practice. His nailshave now become an exhibition of thumbnails with images of King Nanda, Yasoda,l ord Balram, Lord Krishna, and Radha. He uses poster colors, which stay permanent for long as compared to any other color.

Through the traditional nail art Niranjan wants to promote the traditional Pattachitra art of Orissa as many still don't know about it. Niranjan feels that the state government should extend support to artist in promoting the art. He is also grooming youngsters in pattachitra art.
