Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have 'recession proof wedding rings' adorning their fingers. The rings that go by the current economic meltdown are nine dollar bands each made of plastic.

Pratt who calls the rings 'recession hit bands' had formerly slid an amethyst ring in his beloved's finger, bought from Ice Accessories at his local mall when he went down on his knees last year.

The duo had eloped to Mexico and tied the knot on 20th November. However their marriage is still not legalised as they had failed to produce the requisite marriage license before the ceremony.
