'First-Day Cover' In Memory Of Kargil Hero Unveiled

The postal department has unveiled a 'first-day cover' in memory of Kargil hero late Major Saravanan.
Speaking at a function on the Kargil war victory 'Kargil Vijay Divas' here yesterday, S P Rajalingam, Postmaster General, Central Region, Tiruchirapalli, said the department was proud to bring out the 'first-day cover' in memory of the Kargil hero.
K K Tripathi, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Tiruchirapalli said the release of the 'cover' in memory of late Major Saravanan was a befitting tribute to his supreme sacrifice for the country.
District Collector T Soundiah, City Corporation Mayor Sarubala R Tondaiman, mother of late Major Saravanan and others participated in the function.
