In this scientific era when deforestation is on a rise, there is someone who gives a fig about this problem. Common human papillomavirus is what which sowed the seed of Dede Koswara's, (commonly known as 'The Tree Man') rare malaise. Koswara, a resident of Indonesia encountered a cut on his knee at the age of 15 which resulted in the formation of a wart and it soon multiplied into many. His dreams of leading a normal life in his household with his wife went haywire when his body turned into thick maze of warts.

He was targeted by this pandemic outburst of warts which crawled down his face towards his hands and feet. Koswara was compelled to quit his job as a fisherman when the cataclysmic shadow of the warts stretched far enough to savour human sensibilities. To escape the pain of humiliation he joined the crew members of a freak show.

Media took the initiative and finally he came face to face to some possibilities of getting cured. In the past nine months, he went eight times under the surgeons knife to get his warts chopped off. It didn't give back his lost identity again but are counted as the first few steps of convalescing. Koswara, who has been leading his life in exile from past 20 years is desirous of coming back to his home, to get out of the blues... to paint his life green again.
