These popular postcards were collected by a German naval officer, who later gave the album to a British soldier at the end of the war. The family kept the album since then.
The album contains pictures of Graf Spee and other German vessels, as well as some wryly humorous postcards. One of the postcards shows three sailors leaning over the side of a ship above the caption: "Seasick oh what a joy!" Auctioneer Michael Bowman values the collection at 600 to 800 pounds, reports Times Online.
The terrifying dictator has long since been hated for his infamous image, the World War that he evoked hardly had any happy moments to talk about.
