Bhubaneswar, May 15 (UNI)Wonder kid Budhia Singh will lead a marathon walking rally from the temple city here to Kolkata covering a distance of 500 kms along with hundreds of his supporters to spread a message 'Olympic champion-not a dream but a reality'.
Budhia's coach Biranchi Das in a statement here said the child prodigy, who had already entered the Limca Book of records for covering a distance of 65 kms in seven hours in May 2 last year,will commence his walk from the Orissa State Museum on June 6.
Accompanied by hundreds of his supporters, Budhia will reach Dharmatala in Kolkata on June 16.He would cross the West Bengal border at Sonakania from Laxman Nath covering as many as five districts in Orissa.
Mr Das said the Budhia Singh Trust(BST)has proposed the 500 km long marathon walk to create mass awareness for sports and games with the slogan 'aiming for Olympic'.
The five-year-old boy since his sensational debut as a marathon runner, has been a great inspiration to a large number of children in the state and other places in the country to take up 'marathon walk' as a passion, his coach said.
