Siang River Festival commences
Itanagar, Jan 8 (UNI) Union Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Ambika Soni along with DoNER Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar and Minister of State for Trade and Commerce Jairam Ramesh would attend the second Siang River Festival beginning January 10 in all the three Siang districts of Arunachal Pradesh. Briefing media persons here today Water Resources Minister Tako Dabi, who is also the state government spokesman, informed that Ms Soni would inaugurate the first phase of the festival at Tuting in Upper Siang district on Wednesday, while MoS Jairam Ramesh would inaugurate the second stage of the festival at Yingkiong in the district on January 13. Mr. Ramesh would also inaugurate the third phase of the festival at Aalo and Mechunka in West Siang district on January 14 and would attend a meeting on trade and commerce at Pasighat in East Siang district the next day, Mr Dabi informed adding, the minister would also lay the foundation stone of bamboo technology park at Rusking under East Siang district on January 15.
Mr Aiyar would arrive at Pasighat on January 15 and address the Doner ministry meeting on January 16 likely to be attended by all the chief ministers and governors of North Eastern states, including Sikkim, Mr. Dabi said.
On January 17, Mr Aiyar would flag in the rafting expedition at Pasighat, which would be flagged off by Ms Soni at Tuting on January 10, he added.
