Sambora out of treatment center
Richie Sambora, the Bon Jovi guitarist, has checked out of the treatment centre he entered last week. He arrived at the Los Angeles facility for undisclosed reasons last Wednesday (06.06.07), completing his program.
A Bon Jovi spokesman announced yesterday (13.06.07), "Richie Sambora has completed a program at the UCLA Medical Centre. He is doing well and continues to receive outside support."
Sambora split from actress Denise Richards in March after dating her for almost a year. The 47-year-old rocker's divorce from Heather Locklear was finalised in April and his father tragically died of lung cancer on April 21. A source said, "Richie has had a terrible year. I think this was a culmination of all these things and finally he realised he needed to take care of himself. He'd put off everything for so long taking care of everyone else it was just time to stop and deal with his issues."
Bon Jovi are scheduled to play a short series of tour dates this summer, beginning on June 24 in London. A much larger tour is planned for 2008, while the band's new album, 'Lost Highway', is due out on June 19.
