Connoisseurs of food have a field day at the food mela, offering delicacies from across the country, including from West Bengal, Punjab, Rajasthan, Kerala and Tamilnadu. Taking tourists down the memory lane was the 'shahapasad" tonga rides to heritage buildings in the city. The age old tongas of the city have been spruced up for the purpose and the tonga wallas had been provided with traditional uniforms.
On the other hand, the organisers also conducted number of sports events like wrestling competitions in which more than 1000 wrestlers from across the state and other parts of the country took part. More then 2500 sports persons were taking part in the three day sports meet which would give glimpse to the sports lovers to watch the both traditional and other events.
To take care of the tourists traveling woes, the Tourism Department and KSRTC had introduced a number of special packages to various tourist spots in and around the city.
Buoyed by the overwhelming response to the 'nadahabba"(state festival), the state government had decided to take it to international standards.
The inflow of tourists was expected to surge on the final day of the festival on October 21 when the famous Dasara processions(Jamboo Savari) would be taken out. It would be live telecast by the Doordarshan. The authorities has made special arrangements for this purpose.
