Fan celebrates Lalu's birthday!
Jamshedpur, Jun 11(UNI) A die-hard fan of Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad celebrated the minister's 60th birthday by cutting a 60 pound engine-shaped cake here today.
Purandar Narayan Singh,the East Singhbhum district president of Yuva Rashtriya Janata Dal, celebrates his mentor Lalu Prasad's birthday every year with much fanfare and this year was no exception.
The highlight of this year's celebration was the railway engine-shaped cake and participation of about a hundred children.
The YRJD leader cut the cake with the children greeting '' Happy Birthday to Lalu, Lalu Prasad Amar Rahe, Lalu Prasad Jug Jug Jiyo'' and also offered 'puja' and 'aarti' before a life-size photograph of the RJD supremo followed by Bhojpuri songs that narrated the achievements of Lalu.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Singh said the RJD leader had given honour to the poor, down-trodden and deprived classes of the society and the party should work for the uplift of those classes.
He also distributed utensils, books and copies among the children to mark the occsasion.
