Keith Richards To Rock From His Wheelchair
Keith Richards says he'll keep on rocking even if he ends up touring in a wheelchair. 'The Rolling Stones', guitarist, 63, is overwhelmed by the number of young fans drawn to his band. These young people working in bands was not even born in the 60s when the band gained a firm ground.
He said that it is heart warming to see some of his fans coming with their grandchildren and some other guitar freaks around 12 years of age attending the concert. "It's kind of an inspirational thing in a way to pass it on. "I'll keep on going. I'll do it in my wheelchair". The 30 mile traffic jam caused by about 33,000 fans attending the first show of their 30-date European tour in Werchter, Belgium, on Tuesday (05.06.07) proved the band's enduring popularity.
Frontman Sir Mick Jagger is of the view that they are more are less akin to professional sportsmen in terms of their working modes. He said: "All the time you're building up and in that way it's akin to sports because you're working up - you practice, you run about, you play the song, you rehearse, but the actual thing's only two hours and then it's over."
