By Staff

London, Jun 30 (UNI)Indian origin Shriti Vadera, one of British Prime Minister Gordon Brown's closest advisers, is the new international development minister.

She will go to the Lords to become baroness.

She has worked closely with Bob Geldof in the 'Make Poverty History' campaign.

One media report commented: "If Alastair Campbell was Tony Blair's real deputy, Shriti Vadera has been the real number two at the Treasury." The publicity-shy former investment banker has hogged the limelight by becoming the international development minister.
