Gunidas Sangeet Sammelan on Jan 20 TH
Chennai, Jan 9 (UNI) The acclaimed 'Gunidas Sangeet Sammelan' will be held in this metropolis, the culture capital of South India, for the first time on January 20.
The programme would commence with a jugalbandi by popular Carnatic vocalist duo Anuradha and Shriram.
The high point of the evening would be a performance by world-renowned Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, according to a press release here.
The Sammelan was first organised in 1977 by legendary Hindustani classical vocalist late C R Vyas, in memory of his guru the late Jagganathbuwa Purohit, the classical doyen of the Agra Gharana, under the aegis of Maharashtra Lalit Kala Nidhi Trust.
