The Bollywood awards for music and fashion were given away on Saturday night (17/11/07) amidst a star-studded ceremony at the Atlantic City. The spectacular music performances and fashion displays spell bounded the audience, who were mostly of NRIs. The popularity of the Indian film songs was visible among the audients as the immigrants especially from South America, cheered with the beat and vigor.

Famous playback and pop singer Alisha Chinoy won the 'Best Female Singer' award, and her hit number 'It's Rocking' adjudged the 'Best Song of the Year'. Renowned composer A.R. Rahman won the honour for best 'music director' for his composition in 'Guru'. Sonu Nigam received the 'best male singer' for the song 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna'. Other nominees were Himesh Reshammiya, Sukhvider Singh, Sukhbir and Shaan.

In the fashion world, noted designer Manish Malhotra won the 'best designer of the year" award. Sumeet Verma won the award for 'best designer in films'. The 'best models' in the female and male category are Anchal Kumar and Aryan Vaid respectively. The glittering fashion show that followed the event enthralled the audience.

Later, Ms. Alisha rendered her hit numbers for the audience. Kavita Krishanmurthy sang a sampling of songs she had sung since the beginning of her career. The audience took up a new role as they sang the hit numbers with Kumar Sanu. The show proved its predominant radiance until the conclusion.
