New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) Delicacies from the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh are a big hit with the Delhites in the Madhya Pradesh Mela,"Hunar"at the Dilli Hat here.
Delicious and mouth watering dishes from the Malwa region, a plateau on the western region of Madhya Pradesh, have found favour with the people of Delhi in the fare.
Malwa is a prosperous region with Indore, its most prominent city being the commercial capital of the State.The region is well known for its cuisine. The fair at Dilli Haat has several food stalls selling typical Malwa delicacies.
Poha and Seva,with which the people of Malwa region begin their day has become popular with the Deliites. Rabri Malpua is something irresistible even for the calorir conscious.
Bhutta, bhutt kachories and "kiss",all made of maize grown as a bumper crop in Malwa region, are the other favourites of Delhites in the fair.
The combination of "dal bafle, kadhi, laddu", the most popular item in the region,is being lapped up by the people at the rate of Rs 60 per thali.
