Courtesy: As many as 55 Indian literary works including 'The Inheritance of Loss' by Booker Prize winner Kiran Desai have been translated into German, Spanish and French in order to promote the country's publishers and authors.
This was one for the successes of putting up the Guest of Honour Presentation by India at the Frankfurt Book Fair earlier this month.
The works were translated under a specially created Translation Subidy Scheme, a National Book Trust statement said.
The original English title of Kiran Desai, published by Penguin India, was brought out in German by Berlin Verlag GmbH under the TSS granted by the NBT with the GHP fund.
The German version hit the stands well before the announcement of the Booker Prize for the book.
