Puppies look very cute and all pet lovers feel like owning one for themselves. Well, owning a puppy is a nice idea to include a new member in the house. However, if you are a puppy lover, you need to be very careful. A small puppy is like a baby. They need utmost care and attention for the first few weeks. Owning a puppy is very common as they easily get adapted to the new family of human beings!

It is a nice idea to own a puppy. However, you need to be aware of the things that can change after a puppy comes home. Like small babies, puppies too will poop and pee anywhere in the house, tear-off pillows and cushions with their small yet strong teeth, etc. So, you need to take care of them and train them effectively to a disciplined dog. Develop good habits: Your puppy is too small to know the right place to pee or poop. So, you need to train your puppy slowly and make him/ her get used to the family. Take the puppy inside the bathroom to show the place for pee and poop. Dogs are fast learners so, you need not worry. For the first few days, it is good to sleep with the puppy. Dogs do not like to stay alone and most of the puppies start crying when they are alone. Slowly, introduce to new toys so that they divert their mind and fall asleep while playing.

Have patience: Like babies take a lot of time to learn and get used to the new things, puppies take time too. Pet owners must know this thing before owning a puppy. Having patience will give fruitful results for sure. Once the puppy is trained, you will not have to run behind him/ her.

Be careful: Keep the doors closed when the puppy is awake. Also avoid taking the puppy at the terrace or balcony. They might act crazy and while playing, can fall down. So, be very attentive when out with a small puppy.

Grooming: This is one thing that every pet owner must know before getting a puppy home. Grooming is very important. So, if you do not take bath for 2 days, do not apply this unhygienic habit on your puppy. Groom them and bathe when their fur starts stinking. Be careful while cleaning the ears and cutting the nails.

Vaccinations: Medical care is important for the puppies. Be prepared to spend money on vaccinations and vets.
