Taking dogs to the park helps owners boost their social life.
A Melbourne based town planner, Virginia Jackson said that those who frequently take their dogs to parks have a good social life.
Jackson quizzed 150 dog owners and found that dogs were a conversation starters for almost 95 per cent of respondents while 38 per cent credited their pet dogs for helping them develop friendships that were stronger than an acquaintance.
The relationship developed are likely to be of varying degrees. While some are superficial, others build a deep relation.
