Effective Methods To Remove Hair Dye Stains From Towels
Dyeing your hair should be an exciting experience because it gives you a new look. To make it a fun experience, there should not be any worry about the hair dye staining your towels. So, how to remove hair dye stains from towels? It can be a daunting task. Today, Boldsky shares with you some easy and effective ways to remove the hair dye stains from towels completely. These are the most easy and cost effective methods of dye stain removal.
Dye stains on your clean white towel can be annoying. They are one of the hardest stains to remove.
Either the dye accidentally falls on your white towel or the towel gets stained with dye while drying your hair. In both these cases, you need to remove them immediately. If allowed to remain on the towel, the stain often sets in and becomes difficult to remove.
How to remove hair dye stains? The simple things you need for removing hair dye stains from towels are hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, laundry detergent, brush, bucket, chlorine or colour-safe bleach, ammonia and hair spray.
Here are some tips how to remove hair dye stains from towels. For hair dye stain removal from your clothes, you can also try these steps.

Hydrogen peroxide
For dye stain removal, first pour hydrogen peroxide on the stain. Scrub it with the toothbrush. Pour few more drops of hydrogen peroxide over the stain and keep it for five minutes. And then rinse with water.

Vinegar and laundry detergent
Mix two cups of white vinegar and two tablespoons of your laundry detergent in one bucket of warm water. Allow the towel to soak for a few hours and check periodically if stain has been removed.
Chlorine or colour-safe bleach
How to remove hair dye stains? Try this effective method. Add one cup of chlorine bleach in a bucket of cold water. Immerse the towel in the mixture for 30 minutes. Wash it with running water.
Note: If your towel is white, then soak it completely in bleach. If not, then soak only the stain part.

Ammonia
Add one cup of ammonia in a bucket of lukewarm water. Immerse only the stain part of the towel in the bucket. Keep it immersed for 10 minutes.
Note: Ammonia is very corrosive, so be careful with it.
Hairspray
How to remove hair dye stains from towels? Spray some hairspray on the stain, if some faint stain is still left after ammonia treatment. Hair sprays contain alcohol and other chemicals that help to loosen the stain. Allow it to stand for five minutes and then rinse with water.

Wash the towel well
After performing all these steps, wash the towel well. You may repeat the exercise a few times to get best results.
Note: If the dye stain is light, you can get it removed with just the first method itself. However, if the stain is deep, you might have to follow the second or all the steps. Also, keep on checking whether the stain has been removed from the fabric after every step. Before using any of these steps, make sure you do a test whether that particular step suits the fabric of your towel. You can do the test on the corner of the towel or some other spot.
