Tips To Clean Copper Vessels At Home
Copper vessels are widely used in Indian kitchen. You might have experienced the difficulty in cleaning those copper vessels at least once in your life. Copper vessels darken over time with constant use or simply by the exposure to air.

Copper vessels are generally lined with tin or steel to prevent unwanted chemical reactions with food. Keep that in mind while selecting cleaning products as these metals may get ruined. Probably you may be coming across using ketchup as one of the cleaning tips for copper for the first time.
But, believe, it works! There are many other cleaners that are available in your kitchen itself for cleaning your copper vessels. Here, we are presenting some more cleaning tips for copper vessels, which help keep your copper vessels look new.
Vinegar and salt: Vinegar and salt solution can be effectively used to clean copper vessels. Pour a mixture of vinegar and salt to your copper vessels. Keep on rubbing it until all the tarnishing and grime is removed. This will help to remove remnants of oxidation from copper.
Lemon: Try cleaning your copper vessels next time with a sliced piece of lemon. Cut a lemon and rub one sliced piece to clean copper vessels. Rinse the copper vessel thoroughly and dry. This will help keep your copper vessels clean.
Lemon and salt: Adding some salt to lemon juice is one of the most interesting cleaning tips for copper, which will give an extra power for the cleaning. Mix lemon juice and salt to make a paste. Rub this over your copper vessels and rinse it off.
Vinegar and flour: Mix thoroughly one tablespoon of salt and one cup of white vinegar. After mixing well, add some flour and make it a paste. To clean copper vessels, apply this paste on it and keep for fifteen minutes. Then, rinse with warm water and polish.
Sufamic method: Sulfamic method can be used effectively to clean copper vessels which are oxidized or tarnished. This is commonly used when copper is the only metal to be cleaned. Be careful because any other metals other than copper can get pitted while using sulfamic acid.
Baking soda: Using baking soda is always in the top list of cleaning tips for copper. You can use either a combination of baking soda and lemon juice or simply use baking soda alone to clean your copper vessels. This is one of the effective methods for cleaning copper vessels.
Be careful: Most of the cleaning methods for copper demands scrubbing on the vessel. Be careful to do it gently because chances are more that you will end up with marks of scratch. It is better to use a less abrasive cleaning cloth.
