6 Ways To Clean Finger Rings

Oh, that priced possession of your life, your diamond ring stands in an amazing manner on your finger! You love the whole look and feel of wearing the diamond ring. This feeling cannot be replaced by anything else. But, do you care enough about your diamond ring? Do you take it off and clean it enough? Do you even keep it from getting spoilt due to excess moisture or any other issue? Well, there are times when you tend to wear your ring and do your regular chores. You forget that it can be bad for your ring, but then now that it’s done you wish there was a way to clean the ring and get the dirt stuck on it away.

While diamond rings are something that you are pretty careful about, there are some rings like your normal silver rings which can rust away in case you wear them and wash the utensils or perform your chores. So how would you avoid the rusting and spoiling of your finger rings and get to clean them? Apart from the diamond rings, there are those imitation rings too that you need to be careful about. Soaking the Ring
Your first step would be to soak the ring. Make sure you get ready a mild soap solution to begin your affair with cleaning the ring. You can choose to use the ivory dishwashing liquid. That is pretty mild and wont really affect your ring. But, in case you don’t get to use that one, you can always choose to use any other mild detergent. Make sure the solution prepared combines the liquid and water in equal proportions.

Remove Dirt
After having soaked your ring in a mild soap solution for some time, you need to begin cleansing it. Keep a soft brush handy to clean your rings in this case. Don’t forget to use a soft brush for sure. Any brush with stiff bristles would only spoil your ring further. You should slightly rub the soft brush across the ring in order to remove the dirt that is stuck onto it.

Rinsing the Ring
While you are cleaning the ring with a soft bristled brush, you should also let the ring soak well. Once you have cleaned it, let it soak in the water solution again. Now rinse it in the warm water for some time. Now when you are rinsing it, make sure the drain of your sink is closed else you will lose your ring in the process. You can even use a proper filter to make sure your ring is safe.

Dry the Ring
Once you are done with the rinsing, you should ideally leave the ring aside. You can use a blot cloth to dry the ring. Make sure you use a soft blot cloth and don’t make rough use of it. The diamond are precious and brittle too. Chances of them coming out of your ring are high in case you decide to rough it up. So make sure you are a bit easy with the cloth.

In case the diamond ring that you are cleaning is not really fracture filled, you could also use an ammonia solution to clean it. Just in case it is fracture filled, you should use a softer and gentler solution
