Home Improvement Tips To Clean Mattresses:
- Vacuum Cleaning- The standard method of cleaning your mattress is to vacuum it. Cleaning through vacuum helps in removing dirt and does not leave it stained. This is because you are not wetting your mattress. It is the most common method to remove dust from your mattress.
- Other Methods- You can clean your mattress using an upholstery cleaner. These cleaners are very effective and they come in contact with our skin, so make sure you have no allergy from the chemical. This cleaner helps in getting rid of dust mites and helps in removing stains effectively.
- Enzyme Cleaners- Use an enzyme cleaner to spray on your mattress and clean it. These cleaners are very effective as they breaks the stain structure and helps in lightening them.
- Citrus Cleaners- You can get rid of those dirty stains using a citrus cleaner. Spray your mattress and leave it about five minutes. Do not rub it with your hands, instead blot it with a clean cloth. This will help in reducing stubborn stains out of your mattress.
- Cleaning Mattress With Water- You can remove stains with water. You can clean blood stains using water. Add salt to plain water and spray it onto your mattress. This can help in removing blood stains. You can remove mattress stains even by using cold water. Do not use hot water as it stiffens the proteins of blood.. You can use a meat tenderizer from your pantry, to clean the proteins. Rinse and repeat the process to remove the iron in blood stains.
- Baking Soda Cleaning- Mix baking soda and water in a bowl. Add one part with baking soda and the rest with cold water. Apply it on the affected area with a clean cloth and let it settle for about 30 minutes. Use a damp cloth to remove the remaining solution and then rub with a dry towel to absorb its moisture.
- Detergents For Mattresses- You can remove stains from mattresses using detergents. Dish washing detergents are effective cleaners. Add 1 spoon of dish washing detergent and cold water in a bowl. Soak a cloth and apply on the stained area. Then rub it with a tooth brush and rinse by blotting it with a wet cloth. Then dry it with a wet cloth. This will help in removing mattress stains.
