Remove Nail Polish/Lipstick Stains From Clothes

Tips to remove nail polish and lipstick stains from clothes:
1. Check out the fabric label before washing the clothes. Acetate or triacetate or modacrylic require dry cleaning. Other materials if hand washable can be cleaned at home.
2. To remove nail polish stains from clothes, use acetone based nail polish remover. Place a white towel under the cloth and dip a cotton cloth piece in the remover. Rub it on the stain till the stain transfers to the towel beneath.
3. If the nail polish stain doesn't go with the remover, use rubbing alcohol on the cloth. Dip a cotton cloth or ball in rubbing alcohol and clean the stain. If the garment colour is light such as white, use hydrogen peroxide to bleach away the remaining colour.
4. To remove lipstick stains from clothes, you can use rubbing alcohol. Always use clean and white cloth for cleaning as the colour doesn't blend while rubbing.
5. You can also use normal detergent to remove the lipstick or nail polish stains. Soak the cloth in warm water for 10-15 minutes and then rub detergent. Leave the detergent on the stain for 3-4 minutes and then wash off well. You can also add vinegar to the water.
6. Mix water, detergent and little baking soda. Soak the cloth in this solution for 5-8 minutes and then rinse off well.
7. Petroleum jelly is another simple tip to remove stains of lipstick from the clothes. Just rub it on the stain and leave for 15 minutes. You can also use shaving cream to remove such stains from clothes.
8. Ammonia when mixed with baking soda becomes a strong stain removal solution. You can also use this solution to remove stains of nail polish or lipstick from the clothes.
