- Take time to dust out the doormats inside and outside your doorways.
- Vacuum or Sweep the floor to remove all the dust from living room.
- Start furniture polishing after dusting the room.
- To clean wood furniture mix ¼ cup vinegar with a few drops of olive oil or liquid wax jojoba. This cleanser will effectively remove the stains from the wood furnitures.
- To polish metal furniture, artifacts and decorative pieces, you can use some of the handy home cleansers as Worcestershire sauce for brass; apple cider vinegar or baking soda for chrome; vinegar and salt or lemon and salt for copper; cabbage leaves for pewter and the overnight soaked mixture of ¼ cup warm water, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, and one piece of aluminum foil for silver.
- You can dip a clean cloth in spirit or salt solution to clean the glass surfaces. You can also sprinkle water on the glass surface and wipe it clean with newspaper.
- A school eraser will effectively erase the dirt from the walls.
- If you have anything sticking on your walls, like chewing gum, cello tape etc., heat up a teaspoon and press it on the sticking object. It will come out without spoiling the paint on the wall.
- A paste of washing soda and water or club soda, lemon juice and hot water will work as an effective cleanser for stains on carpets.
- After cleaning the furnitures and tables in the living room, wipe the floor with a room cleaner and wet towel.
- Wipe the floor dry with your dry towel.
- You must be vigilant to neatly arrange the books and magazines in the bookshelves.
- Now you can spray the room freshner in the living room. Always be careful to spray it on the ceiling fan, as the fragrance will easily spread with its movements.
- Arrange fresh flowers or plants and place them around the room.
Drawing room
Your drawing room is the place where you can relax and entertain your guests. Here are some simple steps to have glowing drawing room within half an hour.
- Gather around all the supplies for intense housecleaning.
- Take away all the items that do not include your artistic senses.
- Dust down the ceilings, walls, windowpanes, picture frames, furnitures, tables and carpets with the dust mop.
- Take down draperies, curtains and blinds to wash or have cleaned according to the manufacturer's directions.
- Vacuum or Sweep the floor to remove all the dust.
- After dusting the room, start furniture polishing as mentioned above.
- Wipe the floor of with room cleanser and a wet towel
- Do not forget to dry the floor with a dry towel.
- Arrange the books, CDs, cassettes neatly and in accordance with your preference.
- Spray room freshner in drawing room as indicated above.
- Take some time to sit and relax in your clean drawing room.
