Christmas 2020: Tips To Make Gorgeous X-Mas Lanterns And Deck Up Your Home Decor
Christmas decorations are going on everywhere with only a few days left for Christmas now. There are beautiful Christmas trees outside houses decorated with colourful lights and stars. Similarly, houses are decorated with flowers, lights and lanterns. All these decorations make Christmas more cheerful and colourful.
Christmas decorations use a lot of lanterns and lamps. There are lanterns which are made especially for Christmas. These lanterns are either available in decoration or stationery shops. Lanterns are made from plastics, paper or cardboard. They can be made at home also. There are many easy ideas to make Christmas lanterns at home.
A few easy and nice ideas to make Christmas lanterns are:
1. Paper Lanterns
This is the easiest and the simplest type of Christmas lamp to pep up your Christmas decor. For making a Christmas lantern you will need a cardboard paper, scissors, glue and glitter pens. Take the cardboard sheet and make a rectangle cut from it. Fold the rectangular sheet. Leave the edges thick and make cuts every of 1 cm each. Once you are done with it, stick the edges with the glue. Your simple and cute Christmas lantern is ready. Hang it from the wall and insert a small bulb from the top to give it more effect.
2. Star Lanterns
To make a star-shaped lantern for Christmas, you will need a flat bamboo stick, a round bamboo stick, tissue paper, scissor, glue, knife, a small tin, painting colours and other stationery. Take the flat bamboo sticks and cut them in equal lengths. Arrange the sticks in the shape of a star and stick the bamboo with glue. Make two such stars. Connect the two stats with rounded bamboo. Wire all the three pieces together. Now make a platform with bamboo pieces in the centre of the star. Place a tin there with a candle inside. Paste tissue paper from all sides except top and bottom. Paint the paper and your lantern is ready. Light the candle from the top when you need to use it.
3. Angel Lanterns
For making Christmas lanterns you will need a rectangular piece of cardboard, pencil, scissor, glue and scissor. Take the rectangular cardboard and fold it in the shape of a box. Take the front side and draw an angel over it. Cut the drawn angel very carefully. Now paste the cardboard and make a box. Keep the top and bottom open. Use the box as a ceiling lantern and insert a bulb to give it more effects.
4. Round Lanterns
For making around Christmas Lantern you will need a balloon, tissue papers, colours and other stationery. Blow the balloon and tie it. Take a lot of tissue papers and paste them all over the balloon to form a thick layer. Keep the top part of the balloon open. Once the tissue layers become hard and thick, burst the balloon and remove it from the mould. A circular-shaped lantern will be formed. Colour the tissue in bright shades. Hang these from the ceiling and use a light bulb to enhance the effects.
Combinations – For making Christmas Lanterns you can use all the above ideas and use a combination of them. Use the star as the centrepiece. Use the rest to decorate the tree and houses.
