Winters are here and it is the time of the year you prefer to sit inside your comfortable and cozy houses rather than strolling outside in the chilly winds. You must have already prepared your houses for winter making it warm and better. The cold and dry breeze especially when accompanied with snow makes it much more comfortable to sip coffee sitting next to the fire place in your arm chair.

In the winter decoration apart from keeping the house warm, lights are also an important consideration get your house ready for winter. Some lighting ideas for winter home and winter decoration are:

Bright Lights- During winters the sun sets in too early and hence it starts getting darker earlier than in other seasons. The best lightning idea for winter homes is to use a lot of bright lights. You should use ceiling lights that would brighten up the place. This would eliminate the dull and shabby mood developed during winters. Bright lights would make the house look fresh and energetic.

Light every corner- Use winter decoration lights at places where there are dark corners and portions. Such portions are generally observed in corridors, near windows and room corners. Use small bulbs or wall fixed lights as lightening ideas for your winter house.

Use Candles- Candles are romantic and are very good for winter decoration. Use candles on the dining, outside the porch, near the doorsteps and outside windows to lighten up your winter house. The candles might not brighten up your house, but use it in combination with dim ceiling lights. It would give a wonderful look to your house and would make a very good winter decoration.

Use Christmas Decorations- Winter is the Christmas season. So start putting up all your best lightning ideas for Christmas. Use colorful lights everywhere inside as well as outside your house. This would make for a very good winter decoration as well. Use small chains of bulb lights on your walls which consist of different colors. You can also light up your trees and plant pots to decorate your house. Use pattern lights for your gardens.

Use table lights and lamps- In the evenings instead of keeping all the lights of the room on and burdening your electric bills, you can use colorful and designer lamp shades and lanterns to keep the unused rooms lighted. The different types of lanterns and lamps would make a good winter decoration idea and would also be easy on your pockets.
