Centerpiece Ideas For Winter Decor
Winter brings with it dry cold weather that makes you want some cosy and warm place to crash in. You can make that cosy little warm place in your home to beat the winter blues. You can make simple changes to your place that would transform your house into a winter home. Many of these cosy decorating ideas can be done you with the arrival of winter to make you feel warm and soothing right at home.
Even on a bright sunny day you still feel the chill in winter. You can start by changing the interior colour of your house to a warm and soothing one. You can change the fabric covers of your furniture and particularly living room sofa's to wool or leather. This helps in keeping you warm when you arrive cold and shivering from outside. It is time of the year when you may get ready to pull out any warm floor mats and carpets you may have rolled up during summer.
When it comes to windows the best thing to do during winter would be to swap sheer curtains for heavy draperies. Your living room would usually be filled with seating that come with pillows. During winter you can choose to change the regular covers of these pillows to that of wool and scarf material to make you feel farm and seasonal. You can choose to re-arrange your furniture's in general by moving them away from walls and windows to more central positions.
Colourings
With winter chill outside, warm and cosy colourings inside make you feel warm at home. Choose colours such as deep pink, combinations of grey, olive, warm and rich chocolate with combination of white or ivory.
Fireplace
It is time of the year when you start cleaning and readying this part of your living area. You can choose to decorate it with a vase and colourful picture consisting of colours like orange, maroon and yellow hues.
Re-arrange furniture
You can choose to re-arrange the seating and other furniture to beat the winter blues. Keep the seating furniture away from the walls and windows in general. Arrange them closer to the centre or the fireplace to make you feel warm.
Window curtains
When it comes to curtains during winter, it is best to switch from sheer curtains to heavy draperies. This adds a lot of warmth to the room and gives you a realistic cosy feeling.
Covers
You can choose to change the pillow and other cushion covers from regular cloth materials to that of wool and scarf materials. This gives you a cosy and warm feeling while you sit or rest on it during the winters.
Layered bedding
Add more layers to your bed. Along with your regular sheet, add an extra layer of linen to thicken it. Get your quilts out of storage and make your bed fluffy and cosy to decorate your bed with warmth to beat winter blues.
Warm dinner table décor
Decorate your dinner table with warmth by adding a layer of blanket on the table as well as on the seating. You could make an inexpensive candle holder or glass covering for candle to warm the atmosphere during dinner with candles.
Cosy sitting areas
Turn a nook of the living room into cosy sitting area and decorate it with warm coloured theme. Add bright and warm coloured lightings suited for reading a book or drinking your daily cup of evening tea. Make sure the corner is filled with colours like red, maroon, dark pink, shades of orange etc. that has cosy warm feeling to it.
