Savvy decorating ideas for Living Room
Living room is a place where people need to live. In most of the houses living room is decorated with utmost care. It is perhaps the most beautiful room in the house. Yet, it is the least used room by the family. Many people make it picture perfect to welcome guests.
Very few people understand that living room mirrors homeowner's personality. Family, guests should use it alike. A living room can be graciously and immensely attractive and at the same time be livable and comfortable. It should be a source of pleasure and relaxation. Many times, living room functions as playroom, office and even a dining room.
Let's embark on a decorating journey for your living room. Living rooms are enhanced by proper use of colours. Selecting the paint colour should be your foremost step. If you feel lost on picking and blending colours, 'Pick-See-LMD' this should be your magic mantra. Use this formula whenever you are trying to pull together a colour-coordinated room.
Pick a pattern: Pattern is the key word for selecting colour palette for your decor. Choose a pattern from what you already love, such as a pillow, furniture or picture. Lo! You have your colour palette!
See 3 colours: Select a light-medium-dark colour from your pattern to be used as the foundation.
LMD: Light-Medium-Dark. Now, this needs your skill and colour knowledge to coordinate the three. This can affect the over-all appearance of your room.
Light: Basically, it is background. This is easy to achieve as people advise you to have light or off-white walls.
Medium: Furniture and widows: The colour of furniture will blend with the above lighter section. This helps to ground the room and give it a foundation.
Dark: Accessories: Your eye is always drawn to a darker colour. Arrange your accessories in a way to guide the eye flowing through your room. By this method you can achieve perfect synchrony.
