Palash Muchhal Falls Ill Amid Wedding Preparations, Hours After Smriti Mandhana’s Father Was Hospitalised
In a dramatic turn of events, music composer Palash Muchhal, who was set to have the most important week of his life, was rushed to the hospital. According to reports, the would-be groom fell ill on Sunday morning, sending both families into fresh concern just hours after Smriti Mandhana's father had already been hospitalised.
While early reports suggest that Palash was affected by a sudden bout of illness related to viral infection and acidity, the timing of the incident has heightened the emotional strain on both families, already reeling under the medical emergency involving Smriti's father.
What Triggered the Chaos Before the Wedding
According to Palash Muchhal's mother, the emotional shock of Smriti Mandhana's father suddenly falling ill took a heavy toll on him. She revealed that Palash "cried so much" after hearing about the medical emergency that his own health deteriorated, leading to his hospitalisation. He was kept under observation for several hours, given an IV drip and ECG tests, and later discharged once doctors confirmed everything was normal, but the emotional strain still lingers.
Smriti's father, Shriniwas (Srinivas) Mandhana, had complained of discomfort during breakfast. He was rushed to a local hospital in Sangli, where doctors detected heightened cardiac enzymes, a sign of probable cardiac stress. He remains under careful observation and may require further procedures depending on his recovery.
Smriti, who is famously close to her father, knew instantly that this wedding would not go ahead until he was fully stable.
Wedding Postponed Indefinitely
With both families prioritizing health over celebration, the wedding - originally planned to be a private ceremony in Sangli has been postponed indefinitely.
Sources close to the family said what started as a celebration turned into concern in a matter of hours, with relatives and organisers withdrawing to give both Smriti and Palash space to handle the unfolding situation.
A Backdrop of Love, Expectations, and Sudden Uncertainty
The couple, who have largely kept their relationship private, prepared for an intimate ceremony that included just family and a handful of friends. Since the news had come out, the wedding had been the subject of much speculation in the cricket and entertainment worlds, signalling the union of two young achievers at the top of their games.
But as is often the case in life, real-life circumstances took over.
Both Families Request Privacy
As Palash is now at rest and Smriti's father is being kept under observation, the families have appealed to all their fans and the media for privacy in this unforeseen period. The wedding will be rescheduled once the health of both has stabilised. For the time being, celebrations can wait; health comes first.
