The most important body part of a human is the eyes. Our eyes are vulnerable to injury and en number of infections, especially if you are using contact lenses. There are a number of people who use contact lenses thinking that it is easy to maintain. However, this is not true since you need to take a lot more care when you switch from spectacles to lenses.
Millions of people around the world enjoy the benefits of different coloured contact lenses, but are usually unaware of proper care that needs to be taken. For those of you who are using contact lenses on a daily basis, you may have come across painful eye infections. The only reason being that you are not taking good care of your eyes. If no proper eye care is taken when you wear contact lenses, you will be probe to painful eye infection, and sometimes it can also lead to eye blinding infections.
For those of you who are new to the whole concept of contact lenses, there are certain rules you need to follow in order to have healthy eyes. The first rule being that it is mandatory to follow all instructions given by your eye doctor, and secondly the eye care tips given below.

Eye check ups
When you have got riddance of your spectacles and have turned to contact lenses, you may think this is the end of all eye problems and doctor visits. But, you should know that even though you wear contacts, regular eye check ups is a must.

Against water
It is important to swim without wearing contact lenses. Experts say that even when you take a shower, one must remove the contact lenses. The chance of infection from fungi, bacteria, or amoeba is much greater if you are wearing contact lenses while swimming.

Stay clean
It is mandatory that you wash your hands clean with soap and water before you hold your contact lenses in your hand. Your hands carry a lot of bacteria which cause eye allergies and eye problems. It is best to use a non-cosmetic soap to wash your hands.

Cleaning your contacts
Never use tap water directly on lenses, and never put contact lenses in your mouth to rinse them. There are microorganisms which live in distilled water, causing eye infections or sight damage.

Applying makeup
When you have placed your contact lenses in your eyes, make sure not to apply makeup. After your contacts are in your eyes, put on makeup so you don't get any on your lenses. Take out contact lenses before you remove makeup for the same reason.

Traveling
One needs to take good care when you are traveling. If you are going on a road trip, it is better for you to carry spectacles. Dust allergies is a common problem when you are wearing contact lenses.

Parties
If you are organising a party especially a barbecue one, it is important to stay away from the fire as much as possible. The high intensity of the flames can make your contact lenses melt causing instant blindness.
