The Amazing Archana Rao Stuns The Audience At The Amazon India Fashion Week 2016
Day 3 of AIFW opened with a bang with the Hi-5 Show, Chhaya Mehrotra and Archana Rao. Archana Rao's however, was outstanding. She is a graduate from NIFT, New Delhi and has a post-graduate degree from Parson's College of Design, New York. She started her own label Frou Frou in the year 2011 and it's been a grand success ever since. The collection pays attention to glamorous designs featuring simple shapes, crisp folds and ombre effects.
She has been showcasing her collection at the Lakme Fashion Week and has participated in various exhibitions all over India. She is now retailing from Collage in Chennai, Anahita and The Project in Hyderabad, Keitaro in Kolkata, Rudraksh in Pune and Attic in Mumbai. Internationally, Archana Rao's designs can be purchased from Laki Noon in Kuwait.
She presented her line at the Amazon India Fashion Week tonight and we must say, we are impressed. We've put together a bunch of the best pieces at the show and let's begin by decoding the first one.
This crisp, tailored women's suit is the perfect blend of business and pleasure. We love how the lapels are cropped and lie flat on the chest. The belt is an added feature.
This flowy number is a classic Archana Rao, she has studied the female physique so well that she knows how to compliment a woman's curves and still keep the dress very light.
The shoulders and sleeves on this beauty is the main attraction! The sheer, yet stiff fabric allows for a sculpted look that will stand out no matter where you go.
No runway is complete without floral prints. This delicate, feminine outfit reminds us of spring and we love how the belt cinched the waist, emphasising the model's tiny frame.
The show stopper wore a creamy white shirt with an exaggerated collar. The shirt was tucked into a glittery maxi skirt that flowed with each step the model took. The belt was used to draw a demarcation between the sheer skirt and the crisp shirt.
All in all, we loved Archana Rao and hopefully, now you do too!
