Her ethnic lehenga sewn into perfection from 50-year-old brocade sarees served as the ideal inspiration for eco-conscious choice! Read on as we decode Sara Ali Khan's 'thoughtful' occasional avatar.

A Sustainable Masterpiece
Sara Ali Khan paid homage to the heritage and artistry of Indian textiles with her multicoloured lehenga, which was more than just a fashion statement. Created by Mayyur Girotra, the lehenga was crafted from an assortment of exquisite brocade sarees, each with a rich history and meticulously conserved for more than fifty years.
Mayyur Girotra, who is well-known for his persistent admiration of traditional Indian textiles, obtained these antique sarees from his archives, which he had painstakingly assembled over the years. The multicoloured sarees were woven together by the designer, who is renowned for fusing heritage with current couture, to produce an exquisite and eco-friendly creation that would last a lifetime in Sara's wardrobe.
"The exquisite lehenga handcrafted from old recycled brocade sarees around 50-60 years old is a testament to Mayyur Girotra's deep passion for textile heritage," are the words of his design team on Instagram. For his discerning clientele, Mayyur has painstakingly assembled an assortment of rare sarees, textiles, and patchworks of real zari needlework detailing. He turns these treasures into classic pieces!
