Kanjeevaram, Pancha, And Legacy: Decoding Naga Chaitanya And Sobhita Dhulipala's Wedding Attire
Telugu film industry's "It" couple Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala are man and wife now! The duo exchanged vows on December 4 in a grand Hindu ceremony at the Annapurna Studio in Hyderabad. The special event showcased a seamless blend of tradition, opulence, and understated glamour. In terms of style, the lovely duo paid honour to their Telugu heritage, donning ethnic attires that read 'classic' in bold letters!
Read on as we decode Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala's wedding wardrobe:
Sobhita Dhulipala In Gold Kanjeevaram
A quintessential South Indian bride can't part ways with the pure silk saree. The pretty bride Sobhita Dhulipala followed this timeless ethnic style rule for her D-Day. The 'Made In Heaven' series actor donned a lovely Kanjeevaram silk pattu Cheera saree in a golden hue. Her wedding drape was crafted with real gold threads, representing the finest craftsmanship of weavers. She paired the classic six yards with a matching blouse featuring a simple neckline and half sleeves, retaining its zari border work!
Opulent Bridal Jewellery
The silk saree and traditional Temple jewellery is a timeless combination. Mrs Naga Chaitanya's jewellery picks epitomized opulence. She accentuated the bridal ensemble with tiered neckpieces. A Kundan choker known as Kandabaranam, a mid-length neckpiece designed with beautiful filigree work, and a long haram featuring golden balls design added depth and layer to her traditional bridal avatar.
Her arms and hands were beautified with gold aravankis or armlets, kadas and bangles. The statement rings and glittering diamond rings further enhanced the ethnic look.
Natural Makeup And Plait Hairdo
Sobhita is known for her glowing complexion and ensures to accentuate it with minimal beauty products. For her South Indian wedding attire, the 'Ponniyin Selvan' movie star picked an understated makeup look. A neutral makeup base with matte golden highlighter, kohl-rimmed eyes, and neutral glossy lip colour added subtle radiance.
The new bride opted for a jada or plait style hairdo accentuated with fresh flowers. She accentuated this classic hairstyle with papidi billa or a mathapatti with jadau stone detailing.
Naga Chaitanya's Understated Elegance
Naga Chaitanya made the symbolic decision to wear the traditional madhuparkham outfit, which represents simplicity and purity in Telugu culture, in order to honour his ancestry. A pure white pancha (dhoti) with a vivid red border was part of his ensemble. The move reflected the enduring customs of his family and was a sincere homage to his legendary grandpa, Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
To symbolize their union under heavenly blessings, the bride and groom both wore basikams, which are threads tied on their foreheads. Traditionally, kaala tikas were put on their cheeks to ward off nazar, or evil eye.
The wedding of Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala was a lovely ode to their heritage as well as a celebration of their love. Their journey was well captured by their ensembles, which were both traditional and radiated originality. The tradition of the Akkineni family and Telugu culture will undoubtedly make this wedding one of the most memorable events of 2024.
As fans remain in awe of this celebrity wedding, one thing is sure - this union is an eternal testament to love, family, and heritage!
