Why: Well, why not?
Rekha needs no introduction, she is the resident queen of Bollywood still reigning strong. She is one of those iconic actors India is lucky to have and she's equally beautiful and delicate while being brave and fierce. She has won three Filmfare Awards, two for Best Actress and one for Best Supporting Actress. She has also won the National Film Award for Best Actress and was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2010.
This seems to be sounding like a biographical account of her career and we don't want to get into that. Today we'll be talking about Rekha's love for the nine yard wonder. We think this is important because she's always see in the most decadent silk sarees and we can't help but drool. If we were to take a sneak peek into her closet what would we find? More sarees? We think so!
Rekha loves layering herself in silk and we cannot blame her. Every woman loves some good silk and that's the way it should be. She's always turning up in one gorgeous saree after the other and gives the paparazzi much to talk about.
Her choice is mostly Kanjeevaram silk as it is very popular especially in South India. This rich silk makes for grand sarees and Rekha won't have them any other way. She's known for her Kanjeevaram sarees and goegeous zari borders and motifs.
Rekha loves colour coordinating her saree look. She has always enjoyed the attention she gets when she walks onto a stage or on the green carpet. She exudes goddess-like beauty and glamour in her regal attire and we're sure there's more from where that came from.
Her hair, make-up and accessories are always on point. Rekha never appears shabby or bedraggled when she poses for cameras. Intricate traditional jewellery, red lips and accentuated eyes are her signature look. At 60, she sure still looks like a sex siren!
