Onion Garlic n Green Chilli Raita
Raita is a very famous side dish in the Indian cuisine. It is made by beating curd with water and spices. You can either make raita with spices or add some freshly chopped vegetables like onions, tomatoes, cucumber and avocado. You can also make sweet raita with boondis.
Raitas either sweet or salty are best served with roti or rice. You can make a simple meal taste more delicious and finger-licking by preparing raita. It is easy to make and can also add variety to your plate. You might have tried vegetable raita many times. Lets check out some spicy raita recipe that is made with onions, garlic and green chillies.

Onion garlic and green chillies raita recipe:
Serves: 1 large bowl
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- Curd- 2 cups
- Onion- 1 (finely chopped)
- Garlic pods- 7-8
- Green chillies- 2 (finely chopped)
- Red chilli powder- 1tsp
- Cumin seeds- ½tsp
- Black salt- a pinch
- Salt- as per taste
- Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (for garnishing)
- Oil- ½tsp
Procedure
- Heat a tawa (griddle) on a high flame.
- When it becomes hot, roast the cumin seeds for 3-4 minutes till it becomes dark brown. Take out and spread on the chakla (rolling board). Press with a belan (roller) and grind into a powder. Keep it aside it aside.
- In a bowl, whisk the curd with little water. Now add the roasted garlic pods, salt, black salt and ground cumin seeds powder. Mix well.
- Meanwhile, heat ½tsp oil in frying pan. Add the chopped onions and saute on a high flame for 2 minutes. Sprinkle red chilli powder and add green chillies. Immediately pour it into the curd bowl. Mix well.
Onion, garlic and green chilli raita is ready to eat. Serve it hot.
