Sukhi Aloo Ki Sabzi: Easy Recipe
Aloo ki sabzi is a popular side dish that is prepared in every Indian household. A meal is incomplete without adding potatoes or aloo to it. In Indian cuisine, a main course can have several aloo dishes. You can either added potatoes in your rice, dal or prepare a separate sabzi using it as a main ingredient.
When you are running late and want to prepare an easy recipe using potatoes, you can try the sukhi aloo ki sabzi. There are many methods to prepare this Indian side dish recipe. While few keep it simple by cooking chopped potato pieces with simple spices like turmeric and salt, there are many who add other ingredients like slices of onions, red chilli powder, green chillies and jeera powder. Try this recipe, if you are looking to prepare simple sukhi aloo ki sabzi. It has minimal ingredients and tastes crisp and delicious too.

Aloo ki sukhi sabzi, Indian side dish recipe:
Serves: 3
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Potatoes- 5-6 (cut into small cube sized pieces)
- Onions- 2 (sliced, optional)
- Turmeric powder- 1tsp
- Red chillies- 3 (cut in the middle)
- Cumin seeds- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Mustard oil- 2tbsp
Procedure
- Heat mustard oil in a frying pan. When the oil starts steaming, add red chillies and cumin seeds. Mix and saute for few seconds.
- If you are using onions, add them and saute for a minute and then add potato pieces. If you are not using onions, add the potato pieces and mix well with the oil on a medium flame for 5 minutes.
- Mix at short intervals to prevent the pieces from sticking on the pan. Sprinkle salt and turmeric powder. Mix well and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
- When the potato pieces look cooked and crisp, put the pan off flame.
Aloo ki sukhi sabzi is ready to eat. Serve it hot with roti or as a side dish with rice and dal.
