Paneer Baby Corn Masala: Rakhi Dish

Paneer Baby Corn Masala: Rakhi Dish

Serves: 2-3

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • Paneer- 1 cup (cubes)
  • Onions- 2 (chopped)
  • Tomato- 2 (grated)
  • Baby corns- 5-7 (sliced)
  • Green chillies- 3-4 (sliced)
  • Ginger garlic paste- 1tbsp
  • Dried red chillies- 2
  • Cumin seeds- 1tsp
  • Turmeric Powder- 1tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder- ½tsp
  • Coriander powder- 1tsp
  • Garam masala- 1tsp
  • Oil- 3-4tbsp

Procedure

  • Blend green chillies, red chillies and onion to make a smooth paste. Add little water to make it smooth.
  • Heat oil in a skillet. Add cumin seeds and when they start popping, add the ginger garlic paste. Mix it on medium flame for few seconds and then add the blended paste. Saute for 1 minute.
  • Add tomatoes, salt and turmeric powder. Cook for a minute and then add other spices namely, coriander, red chilli powder and garam masala. Cook on a medium flame for 4-6 minutes. (you can add tomato ketchup to make it sweeter)
  • Now add the paneer cubes and sliced baby corn. Mix well and cook on low flame for 8-10 minutes. Stir gently so that the paneer cubes do not break. Put the pan off the flame after the gravy is thick and a thin layer of oil forms on the surface.

Enjoy this Rakhi dish. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve it hot. If you want, you can fry the paneer and baby corn in oil to make it crisp. Even the gravy can be made by adding little water while cooking paneer and baby corn in the skillet. It all depends on the requirement.
