Ghattey Ka Saak Recipe - Spicy Curry Recipe
INGREDIENTS Ghattey Ka Saak :
For the Ghattey :
1 Cup Besan (Gram flour), Sieved
1 tsp Red Chili Powder
e tsp Hing (Asafoetida)
e tsp Salt
2 tsp Oil
2 tsp Yogurt
2 Cups Boiling Water
For the Gravy Of Ghattey Ka Saak :
1 tbsp Ghee (Clarified Butter)
e tsp Cumin Seeds
5 Small Red Chilies
1 Bay Leaf
1 Cup Sour Yogurt + 1 Cup Water
1 tsp Besan (Gram flour)
1 tbsp Coriander Leaves
1 tsp Red Chili Powder
1 tsp Salt
e tsp Turmeric powder
e tsp Coriander - Cumin Powder
e tsp Amchoor (Dry Mango) Powder
e tsp Garam Masala Powder
A few Curry leaves
METHOD :
To prepare the Ghattey Ka Saak :
Mix together the Besan, Chili Powder, Hing and Salt. Add the Oil, Yogurt and enough boiling water to make stiff dough. Work with one-fourth cup of dough at a time, rolling it into thin cylindrical shaped sticks. Drop into boiling water to cook. When the sticks rise to the surface of the water, remove, drain and allow to dry on a tray.
To prepare the gravy :
Heat the Ghee in a kadai(wok), add the Cumin Seeds, Chilies, Curry Leaves and Bay Leaf. Add the yogurt and water mixture. Add the remaining ingredients and the Ghattey pieces. Bring to a boil. Simmer till the gravy is thick.
Serve hot with the Roti.
