Delicious Spiced Peas Recipe

Including green peas in your diet is an excellent idea. Green peas are one of the most nutritious leguminous vegetable. It is a rich source of vitamin A, K and definitely low in calories.
During this season green peas are available in abundance too. So, make good use of it by preparing this delicious spiced peas recipe. The recipe is extremely easy to prepare and the peas with the spices make an excellent combination.

So, try out delicious spiced peas recipe and have a sumptuous meal.
Serves: 3
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- Ghee- 2tbsp
- Cumin seeds- 2tsp
- Mustard seeds- 1tsp
- Coriander- ½ tsp
- Ground cardamom- ½ tsp
- Green chili- 1 minced (more if you like it really spicy)
- Onion- 1 (sliced)
- Peas- 500gms
- Fresh ginger- 2tbsp
- Garlic cloves- 3-4 (minced)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Juice from one lemon
- Coriander (optional garnish)
Procedure
- In a large skillet, heat the ghee on a medium-high heat.
- When ghee is hot, put the cumin seeds, mustard seeds in the pan and stir for about 1-2 minutes, until seeds start to pop.
- Place the coriander, cardamom, chili and onion in the pan and cook until onions begin to sweat, about 5 minutes.
- Add the peas, ginger, garlic and salt and pepper to taste.
- Stir continuously on a high heat for about 3 minutes, until the peas cook through.
- Finally, add the lemon juice to peas and serve garnished with cilantro.
