Afghan Sabzi Recipe: Vegetarian Delight
Afghan sabzi recipe is delicious vegetarian dish from Afghanistan. This recipe is traditionally served with other accompaniments like meat curries, rice and bread. This sabzi is basically made with spinach. Therefore it is a perfect option for health conscious people.
Afghan sabzi recipe is a quick and easy recipe. When you are in a hurry to prepare your lunch, you can opt for this healthy and delicious dish. The dish also requires dried dill leaves which add a unique flavour to this recipe. Adding lemon juice adds the tangy kick which makes this recipe a simple yet lip-smacking delight.

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
Ingredients
- Spinach- 1 bunch
- Dill leaves- 1tbsp (dried)
- Onions- 2
- Salt-as per taste
- Coriander powder- 1tsp
- Black pepper powder- 1tsp
- Lemon juice- 2tbsp
- Oil- 2tbsp
Procedure
- Wash the spinach leaves thoroughly under water. Then chop them roughly.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and fry for about 3-4 minutes till they turn golden brown.
- Now add the spinach and fenugreek leaves. Mix well.
- Add coriander powder, salt and pepper.
- As the water comes out from the leaves, cover the pan with a lid and cook on low flame for about 6-7 minutes.
- After that, remove the lid and add lemon juice. Mix well.
- Cook for another 5 minutes.
- Once done, switch off the flame and serve.
Serve Afghani sabzi recipe with rotis or steamed rice.
