Crispy Poha Croquette Recipe To Start Your Day
Experts say to start your morning with a heavy breakfast meal. We say : start your day with something yummy and filling. Now, though this recipe is fried and not baked, we still advice you to try it out!
Poha is one of the lightest ingredients to start your morning with. You may have heard of poha and potato, poha upma and even poha idlis. What if this morning we told you, that it is possible to turn poha into a croquette? Yes, here is one of our favourite breakfast recipes you can indulge in this morning. The poha croquette recipe is not only easy, it also saves up on time.

All You Need
- Poha - 500 gms
- Curd - 200 gms
- Mustard Seeds- 1 tsp
- Asafetida - a pinch
- Oil - 3 tsbp
- Green Chilli Paste - 2 tbsp
- Coconut - ½ cup (grated)
- Coriander Leaves - ½ (chopped)
- Cumin Seeds - 1tsp
- Salt to taste
Procedure
- To begin this yummy fried breakfast recipe, you need to first wash the poha. When done, soak it in the plain curd for at least half an hour.
- After the desire time mix in the green chilli paste, coriander leave and salt to the above poha. Mix all of these ingredients well using the palm of your hands.
- After this is done, steam the mixture for about 15 minutes using a casserole tray. After 3 minutes remove and cut them into pieces.
- When this is steamed well, take a frying pan. Heat a little oil in the fry pan and wait for it to turn hot. Add in the mustard seeds to the oil and wait for it to splutter.
- Then add to the pan the cumin seeds. When this begins to splutter, add in the pieces of poha croquette delicately into the pan. Fry them till golden brown and switch the flame off.
- For garnishing, sprinkle grated coconut and coriander leaves.
Nutritional Tip
Poha is one of the best ingredients to begin your day with. One serving of poha is filled with vitamins - A, D, K and E. Poha is also rich in dietary fiber and calcium which is a must for children.
Tip
To get a crispy poha croquette, you can add a little corn flour while mixing the initial ingredients.
