Weekend Special: Bread Chaat Recipe
Here we spend many a evening eating our favourite chaat, relishing its magical, addictive flavours. And why not? It is a comforting food that warms the palate.
As monsoon is hitting various parts of the country, having spicy street chaats and pakoras become difficult. Hygiene and water logged alleys make you stay at home and leave those unhygienic street food out of your diet. In order to maintain hygiene, you do not have to give up on chaats. You can make healthy and fresh chaats at home that are tasty, spicy and filling enough to satisfy your taste buds.
So, this weekend prepare this awesome bread chaat recipe which is sure to make your taste-buds dance with joy. Check out the recipe.

Serves: 4
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
- Bread slices- 5 (toasted)
- Thick curd- 1 cup
- Salt to taste
- Desi ghee- 1tsp
- Chilli powder- ¼ tsp
- Green chilli- 1 (finely chopped)
- Cumin powder- 1tsp
- Dhania powder- 1tsp
- Chaat masala- 1tsp
- Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (finely chopped)
- Mint leaves - 2tbsp (finely chopped)
- Onion- 1 medium sized (finely chopped)
- Tomato- 1 medium sized (finely chopped)
- Sev and peanuts to garnish
Method
- Cut the slices of bread into desired shapes before toasting.
- On a pan shallow fry the bread shapes with a little ghee until brown and crisp.The breads have to be well done.
- Now remove onto a kitchen towel and let them drain for a second.
- Quickly arrange them on a plate and sprinkle the chopped onion,tomato,green chilli,mint and coriander leaves.
- Now sprinkle salt,chilli powder, chaat masala, dhania powder and cumin powder.
- With a teaspoon carefully place a portion of curd on every bread shapes.
- Finally garnish with sev and peanuts.
Serve immediately for a quick and lip smacking snack
