WIFW 2014 Day 2: Rahul Mishra
Rahul Mishra who has been coveted International Woolmark Prize (IWP) in Milan, was honoured at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) autumn-winter 2014 for his achievement. FDCI President honoured the Indian designer Rahul Mishra with a black cashmere scarf for winning the 2013-14 (IWP) in February.
Rahul Mishra presented a fabulous autumn winter 14-15 collection at the Day 2 of ongoing Wills India Fashion Week 2014 ramp. Rahul named his floral printed collection, The Lotus Effect which is inspired by the eight petal white lotus. According to Lord Buddha, the eight petal white lotus is found at the heart of Garbhadhatu Mandala (womb) of the world. Rahul was inspired by Buddha's philosophy that lotus is found in womb of the world.
He attempted to portray the journey of human race and the process of metamorphosis that earth has undergone in the last century. Progressive graphics using the eight petal white lotus were seen in Rahul Mishra's autumn winter collection at WIFW AW 2014 ramp.
Exquisite hand embroidery done with pure merino wool yarn gave the ultra soft tactile feel! Handlooms, handicrafts and innovations were also seen in his The Lotus Effect. Permanent texture of Bandhani on merino wool looked intricate and creative. He teamed up with weavers from Kerala, Odisha and other parts of the country to create this exquisite collection.
