Types Of Jeans | Jeans For Women | Women Fashion

Classic straight leg: The most universally flattering kind of jeans for women. Fitted, yet not figure hugging, with a tapered leg to make you look feminine. Wear them in a classic blue, to get the perfect look.

Skinnies: Mid-rise or low rise, these va-va-voom jeans for women hug the body, and look wonderful with blousons or empire waist tops. More toned chicas can team them up with crop tops or fitted shirts.

Coloured: You must have a classic blue pair in your collection; once the basics are sorted, experiment! Opt for mint, coral, or baby pink, or to make a stronger statement, pick red, green or purple.

Distressed: Think ripped jeans, and think the 80s. The trend is still alive and well going in 2014 as well. Minus the 80s big hair, oversized jackets and jewellery overload – thankfully!

Boot cut: Ah! the good old flared jeans. A subtler take on the 70s classic, this is one of those types of jeans which still has loyal fans. These jeans follow the leg shape closely, flaring out gently from the knee.

Embellished: Sequins, embroidery, studs, fabric paint – embellished jeans for women are best paired up with a simple top and accessories, for maximum effect.

Printed: The newest type on the block. Pretty florals or bold geometrics have become uber popular. You could even channel another huge trend: mixing prints.

Boyfriend: The style involves wearing men’s jeans, with legs rolled up at the bottom. Boyfriend jeans convey a certain devil-may-care, tomboyish attitude, that’s super attractive!

Mom: These are high-waisted jeans for women, with a decent amount of room in the leg, high on nostalgia and kitsch. Although they sound boring, mom jeans are quite popular with the celebrity crowd.

Vintage wash: Another of those classic types of jeans, vintage wash jeans are treated to look like they have been washed and worn again and again, faded in all the right places. Perfect for that outdoorsy, adventurous vibe!
